I walked out with FOUR new customers for Commentify at the G2 event.
It was the first networking event I attended. Though I'm an introvert, here's how I cracked it:
1⃣ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭
I reminded myself I wasn’t there to hide in a corner—I was there to connect and share my passion for Commentify.
2⃣ 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
A casual "What do you do?" led to meaningful conversations.
3⃣ 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
LinkedIn engagement was a hot topic, making it easy to introduce Commentify as a solution.
4⃣ 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤
People love talking about their challenges. Listening first made my pitch more relevant.
5⃣ 𝐁𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟
I didn’t pretend to be a "sales guru." I shared my enthusiasm authentically, and it worked.
6⃣ 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Not everyone was interested—and that’s okay. I moved on without a second thought.
7⃣ 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩
I connected with attendees on LinkedIn and kept the conversation going.
P.S. Networking isn't about becoming someone you're not. It's about connecting on your own terms. 😎
